This is the view from the deck that wraps 3/4 of the way around our awesome house here in Sandspit. It's pretty great, to say the least. We only have a little bit of the bush between our home and the water. The house is really great in and of itself: tons of windows looking out onto the water, modern layout with cathedral ceilings, nice big kitchen, cool bathroom with one way glass walls that look out into the bush, huge deck with spa pool (hot tub), etc. We can't believe how lucky we are to have found this place. It's about 45 minutes north of Auckland and surrounded by beaches, great hiking trails, wineries and cute towns. It's sort of like being in Sonoma. You can see we did some laundry the first day and we brought the weather from Sydney with us!
